The US presidential election has changed the global recruitment landscape for the higher education
institutions (HEIs). In two years since Trump was elected into office there were documented declines in the
international student enrollment at the institutions in the US. Media and entities that track developments in higher education have reported that there are increases in enrollments in other countries, especially where
the costs are lower, access and quality are on the rise and the social and political environments are more
welcoming. This article talks about the state of the situation and how things can be shifted to overturn the decline
